First time use
I have used several yogurt makers and processes in the past.
Some have not held a consistent temp well. Others do not have timers.
I have used the oven method as well as a water bath in the Crock pot.
With all they were frustrating, difficult for 12 hour + timing. I often like to ferment for 24hrs.
Clumsy storage (for the units with 7+little single serving cups)
All those reasons are why I looked at this kickstarter project.
Pros.
1. flexible timer in 30 minute increments
2. auto shut off
3. easy neat stackable storage
4. already comes with strainer no need to buy one or get unbleached coffee filters/cheese cloth/strainer.
5. the right size for me
6. storage for cord
7. easily move interior container to the fridge without jostling.
Cons
1. Could only buy hot pink on Amazon. I would have rather white or something but... it is striking on my counter.
2. Interior containers are not dishwasher safe.
3. The recipe disk is a bit basic and silly. It is however cute and a good way to get started quickly.
I have only used this once and that was with cows milk
3 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1/3 cup dry milk
1/2 cup starter yogurt (Dannon)
This is my go to recipe for thick yogurt.
In the past when it has come out of other makers it has always been thin. When I took it out of the Dash maker it was nice and thick. When strained it quickly reached the thickness I prefer.
I was also able to get similar tartness from 12 hours in the Dash when in the past I have had to go with 24hrs.
I attribute this to better temperature control.
I will update this review as time goes buy.

Still using this about once a month. Working very well. No issues at all.
