Like most people I've been through several harnesses looking for the right fit and control. I previously purchased a no-pull style. Sadly millions of people use no pull style harnesses. You can tell they are not good for dogs as the hold back the full range of the dogs movement. Imagine walking with your shoelaces tied. BUT NOT THIS LEASH!! I was very happy after a few adjustments to this harness. I did have to return size large as that was really big for my 65 pound lab mutt. The medium was perfect. I have only used it one day so I can't say long term but I think it will be perfect. Please take time to watch videos on proper fit, don't make it tight up front, and yes it will move depending on the side that is pulled but it seems to return to center just fine. As far as dog chewing through it, I'd say that is user error. Just don't leave it on your dog when your not out walking problem solved. NOTE: I don't write many reviews and am not really happy about the way Amazon combines product reviews these days its hard to know who to trust but rest assured this is a real customer who was searching for the right harness.
