Owned for 4 years. Works well but you need to replace belt and brushes to keep it working well.
We have owned this vacuum for 4 years. Purchased December 2013.
Great for pet clean up of hair and general housekeeping. Plenty of suction and the pet tool with the rubber blades works great.
After four years of use this vacuum is a winner. We have a small long hair dog and it has never failed to pickup the dog hair and perform other general housekeeping chores.
A few key items to keep the vacuum performing well.
1. Change the bag as soon as it fills with hair. Mine lasts about 3 -4 months with weekly house cleaning.
2. Clean the two filters in the bottom of the bag compartment and side compartment. No need to replace with new. Just wash and re-install.
3. The belt needs to be replaced every 2 years at a minimum. Sooner if possible. The belt stretches and wears out preventing the agitator brush from working well. The belt is easy to replace but remember this model has a lever on top of the vacuum body that releases tension on the belt. Pressing the lever and releasing belt tension makes it easy to replace the belt. But, it is easy to install the belt incorrectly and have it touch the top of the vacuum which will wear out the belt in a very short time. Take a picture of the existing installed belt before installing the new belt.
Belt number #562289001 from Hoover parts.
4. Replace the agitator brush. Few people do this yet it is necessary to keep the vacuum working well. The brush bristles wear out. I replace the brush every 2 years. The brush is easier to replace than the roller so no reason not to do it. Brush part number is #303202001.
