Could Be For You
Update: I have been using this for 2 years now and I feel it was a good purchase and continues to work very well. What short comings I mentioned below are far outweighed by overall performance and longevity. This is a first impression review after only using the system one time. I am generally for or against most things so when I find myself in the middle, it's an uncomfortable feeling. First, it's important to understand that this unit is fairly large, it uses about 4 gallons of water and can be awkward to use in terms of handling even though it has a handle and wheels. Filling it is also not convenient although other systems that are similar may have the same issue. I luckily have a shower stall with a handheld shower head which made it easier. Dumping water out requires using a toilet for me which is not like dumping out a standard bucket. The pail portion of the unit has a way to agitate the mop in the water which is nice but it requires the mop head to be put in precisely to work properly. I did manage to get the hang of it. The spin portion works well, does not throw water out of the system, however, getting the mop into the spin portion can put water on the back rim of the pail where there is a lifting handle so it drips of the floor. I solved this problem by wrapping a towel around the handle to catch the water. Not a huge inconvenience. The mop works well as long as you remember not to angle it so that the plastic top can scratch the floor. Again, this just takes practice. Once you get the hang of it, mopping is quick. I have a lot of floors that can only be done with this type of mop or microfiber. I have the microfiber system and but think this is better for large areas. However, for small areas or small living spaces this is just too big and too cumbersome. The microfiber is a better choice. As to how this stacks up against other mop systems that are similar, I don't have experience with the other ones. It certainly is not convenient for me in a 2 story house with only a bathroom upstairs with vinyl flooring to dump out 4 gallons of water and detergent, take it upstairs, refill and do just the one bathroom. I will use the microfiber up there although I carted the mop up twice and did get the floor done. I am giving it four stars as it is sturdy, cleans better than my microfiber and does larger floors with more mopping ease. It could be perfect for some people but think out where you will put it, how you will fill it, how you will dump it and the amount of water it requires to use it.
