I have 3 male cats who are all very particular about the condition of their litter boxes - as well as the area around the boxes. They don't like any litter in what they feel are the wrong places. Before this mat, cleaning up litter that they flung from their feet was something that I did several times a day. I don't have to do that any more. The grid in the mat material, as well as the solid depression, grab hold of the litter before it hits the rest of the floor. Then all you have to do is vacuum it up or better yet, use a whisk broom and dust pan to sweep it up and put it back into the box, with no waste of litter. As an added nicety, the color and pattern are eye pleasing and blend nicely with any decor. I would definitely recommend this - and wish that I had found it years ago.
