This is EXACTLY what we were looking for!!! I'm so happy with this purchase! It keeps our pets downstairs when we are gone and overnight and it's so convenient. It opens up perfectly to cover our stairs and when we are home it folds back up, and we used another circle hook to click it onto so our kids don't play with it when not in use. Seriously... perfect for us and the price is great! I might even paint it to match our walls. If your kids climb though and they are too young to know not to then they would need adult supervision. If your pets chew then a wood gate might not work. With that said for the price it's totally worth giving it a try because it really is a great product. I've included a video to show how we use ours.
