Nifty new Nerf blaster. They will sell a lot of replacement darts with this one because the range is ridiculous. Good look and feel. The detachable stock was a good idea, but it's child-sized and the blaster looks a little off without it. Even if the stock seems to be designed around a child's short arms, parents should take note that the extra power might not be great for the little ones under 10. Popping darts at coworkers even with slightly modded blasters never got much attention. The Retaliator is a little different because the darts squirt out with a lot more speed and power. Lots of ducking. Lots of darts getting lost in nooks and crannies because it shoots with so much power. One downside of the power is the inconsistent aim. In little office target challenges I can shoot small items pretty consistently with a Maverick from 15 ft. The Retaliator makes for wider groupings from the same distance. Darts sometimes fly perfectly straight, sometimes corkscrew. The flight dynamics are exaggerated by distance. Adding the barrel attachment improves accuracy, though it takes some of the velocity off the flight of the dart. PROS: - Power! Shoots 50 ft easily out of the box - Inspires fear in coworkers CONS: - Jams occasionally - Stock is too small, blaster looks unbalanced with it off - Darts tend to corkscrew in flight after 25 ft without barrel attachment (barrel attachment trims range)
