As others noticed, this would squirt water high into the air and if it floated to one side of a birdbath, it would tend to push the water outside of the bath and empty the water quickly. To fix this, I removed the attachments to the center of the fountain, which made the water stream thicker and lower, but it wasn't subject to wind. I also found a plastic bowl that was a bit larger than the fountain unit. I drilled holes into the bottom of the bowl so that set into the water, the water would fill the bowl from the bottom. I weighted the bowl down with two slate coasters and placed the bowl into the water in the center of the bath. I then put the fountain into the bowl. So, now, the fountain stays in the middle of the bath, and the water doesn't squirt so high that the wind pushes it out of the bath and empties the bath.
