Fairly comfortable boot for stress fractures/PF/post surgical foot issues SEE PIX
I wear a size 8.5 woman's shoe, regular width and I bought a size Small in this boot. I have a stress fracture on the outside of my foot.
The same boot at the Podiatrist was $250. No thanks. This came the following day, with Prime and it fits just great.
There is still room at the toe and this has adjustment pads that you can add wherever you need them.
The only issue is that the pump is not centered in the middle of the shin. However, this is a size Small, and my calves are bigger. It still has enough velcro to fit securely.
There are straps across the toe, the ankle and the upper ankle (lower calf)
You fit the soft boot to your foot first, then put it into the hardshell and velcro it in.
This feels like a ski-boot and it will cause you to walk lopsided. I wore a sandal on my other foot that had about 1.5" heel and I felt like I was walking evenly.
I would suggest you wear a tall, comfortable sock inside this at all times. The foam is comfortable enough, but after wearing this for hours, your skin will be VERY warm and you can chafe.
The pump will inflate on either side of the ankle and along the sides of the foot. It does not inflate across the top of the foot. When I wear this, I feel like the stress fracture doesn't exist.
