I bought this to replace a comparable mini-processor from Cuisinart which developed a cracked blade after warranty. I have to say this is the superior product. The blade is much better and the processor is heftier and therefore more substantial. I've chopped nuts and made basil pesto in it so far and it's done a better job than the aforementioned appliance. I don't understand why some people are having problems opening it. Hold the handle in your right hand and pull the lid forward with your left.
