I live in an area well past the suburbs (exburbs) and sadly many homeowners allow their dogs to roam freely. As can be expected, the dogs claim territory well beyond their homes, and this includes public roads. When I go out for walks, invariably I'm accosted by one or more dogs. Some of this dogs think I'm an intruder and they react accordingly, with agression at times. With limited success I have been using repellents meant for human defense. I also carry a long and sturdy walking stick. I recently tried Halt Dog repellent and I was impressed immediately. This stuff works effectively by turning a dog back on its tracks, and by making an unforgettable impression. After one or two experiences with Halt, as soon as the dog recognizes me, it stays well away. Now I use Halt only when I have to content with a new dog that hasn't yet felt the effects of this product. I highly recommend this product.
