Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Review writing isn't fun for me, so usually I don't participate here, discouraged by "that isn't a review" scoldings I come across. Still, I had a hunch I'd enjoy this book after reading the sample, then the first harsh review here, juxtaposed with the first glowing report. Since we get two picks this month, anyway, I went for it, despite probable flaws that might distract. Now I'm happy with this first choice, finding the author's unusual metaphors stirring feelings and sensations - like "you are there" special effects. Rarely do I read straight through a story, but now, already, I'm awaiting Book 2.
