Great product with few drawbracks
After having another recurrence of back pain that makes walking painful and is very slow to remit I bought this walker. I was SO ecstatic at how marvelous it was in helping me move around that I immediately ordered a second one just like it to keep in the car (since it IS a bit tiresome to take up and down stairs whenever we go anywhere in the car--at LEAST a couple times a day, often more). (I immediately sent this 2nd one back for reasons that will be apparent below.) I also did a brief post in the 5 star section saying I would expand my comments more after a week or more experience. BUT in that same post (now deleted), I suggested that consumers who consider buying this model also should read my extensive comments made to the ONE star review by "Gracious 13". I still recommend reading those to you but, after 10 days of extensive use with this "Rollator," I'll now rate it at 4 stars rather than 5. All the good things I said about it are still true but, for my use, some of its less good features have grown more prominent. IF I RARELY needed to fold it up, carry it up and down stairs, fit it into a car trunk, then unfold it for use again, it would be perfectly fine. But in my situation, living one flight above street level with the garage at street level and 2 half flights of stairs and doors to negotiate through to get from living quarters to car and again from car to living space, this model's weight and its wire basket beneath its seat became burdensome. The Drive aluminum model (currently at $83.71) is the additional model we got (instead of a duplicate of this red NON-aluminum model (at $66). My first Rollator, this red one, is fine for use on the main floor. It rolls well over wood or tile floors as well as carpet. It doesn't stay collapsed very well (my comments to 'G 13,' mentioned above, describe how I used Velcro tape to reduce this problem). AND the rectangular wire basket under the seat, roughly the size of a shoe box, is almost always a minor problem to take out &/or put back in place. Of course, the less often you fold up this walker and unfold it for use again, the less often these will be problems. While carrying its weight (17 lbs) isn't prohibitive, it can get tiresome. The seat on this Drive Rollator has a distance of 16 1/2" between vertical supports which will be too narrow for some of ample girth. Drive does make some wider models, appearing very similar to this and their aluminum models from their pictures, which would be more satisfactory for those people. The aluminum Drive Rollator (@ $83.71 -- only $17 more) I'll rate at 5 stars. It's VERY similar BUT weighs 4 lbs. less, has a fabric carryall bag under the seat which collapses if needed (instead of always needing to be removed when collapsing the Rollator) and has a seat that's 1" wider. We keep the aluminum model in a car trunk and the non-aluminum model upstairs in the living area. And love and often use both in their separate venues.
