I ordered the 16inch name, in plain wood. Let me say - bigger is better! It's perfect, I love it and I already have gotten several compliments from guests. I am also using this as a prop for my daughters 5th birthday party wall. I lightly sanded the rough edges and spray painted it in white satin. I used an entire can, (this needed several coats btw) and I sealed it with a clear poly satin spray as well. The sheen is perfect and not too glossy. The entire project took about 4 hours, with dry time between coats. There were no hooks included but I found claw hooks at a big box hardware store near me, and just hammered in one at each end, and there it is!! The name fits perfectly over her bed, and it's just about the same width as her full size bed, which is exactly what I wanted (since this is the only thing on that wall above the bed). If you have the space for it, the 16 inch is awesome. Substantial, and impressive but not overly huge and obnoxious. We love it.
