Well, its a cable, right, just plug in each end an it works. I have been told by many IT acquaintances that I don't need cat7 for home use and lower priced cat 5 would be just as good. When I replaced my old cat5 cables with these, I ran a speed test and the upload speeds on the PC increase by 400 percent and download speeds approximately doubled. On the Mac, the efficiency was not as great, however upload and download speeds increased by approximately 50 percent. I don't know the theory, and I am sure not all users would experience this kind of performance increase. However, I am a happy camper and would recommend these cables.
