I'm a full time broke student, so this desk was quite the bargain. If you follow the directions, you'll be done building this desk in less than an hour. It is not wobbly or flimsy. Its big enough to fit my laptop, some books in the nooks, and a small book stand at the top shelf. The material is particle board (reminiscent of IKEA furniture), so use a coaster if you want to have beverages around. If your expectations match the price point, this will probably fit your needs.
