I bit the bullet and pushed the "submit order" button. I read every review available, and felt I had made the best choice; but I was still worried. Would it be dense enough? Would it be too hot? Too smelly? Take too long to puff back up? Be too spongy, like foam-rubber? Help me sleep at all? Take some of my aches and pains away? Probably all of the questions that are running through your head right now. Well, you can look no further! Really. You have found what you have been looking for. Ordered 03/06/12, received 03/12/12, so the shipping was super-speedy. The topper was vac-packed into a 2.5 x 2 x 1 (or close to that size) box. The seller put a lot of extra effort into packaging by taping the hell out of the box - to prevent it from exploding like a life raft, is my guess. It was very well done and pretty easy to unpack - I was kinda worried about that too. The smell did NOT smack me in the face, as I was expecting. I'm hyper-sensitive to smells of all kinds, but this wasn't that bad. Kind of a "new furniture" smell. Chemical-ish, but by no means horrible. I wanted to sleep on it that night, but my husband wanted to follow someone's recommendation, and made us wait for two whole days. -So that makes us actually sleeping on it for a week now. We left it to expand and breathe in an extra room for those two days (at his insistence) and finally carried it to the bed! I should mention that, at least for the king-size, you're going to need two people to handle this thing. It's pretty heavy and would be extremely difficult to manage by yourself. Now for the part you've been waiting for... The first night... I climbed onto the bed and laid there for a sec - and NO PINCHY LOWER-BACK!!! I was amazed! I always have that! It's what makes me toss and turn all night long! But it never showed up that night - or any night since! Then flipped onto my left, then right, sides to test for the pinchy hip pain - and it wasn't there either!!! I am in LOVE with this topper! EVERYTHING should be made out of this! Smell? Barely detectable, unless you cram your face into the thing. Hot? Nope - although we live in Florida and really crank the air down at night - our normal, night-time A/C temp is 69' - you sleep better in a colder environment; look it up, it's true. You don't sink into it like a stone either. It's very supportive and comfortable in whatever position I'm laying in. Even on my stomach, and I haven't been comfortable laying like that for years. Anyway, I love this topper. Dense, supportive, not smelly, not hot, helps me sleep better, and eases some of my normal, pinchy back and hip pain - everything I had hoped and dreamed! My husband loves it too. I would not hesitate to buy another Memory Foam product again.
