When I moved I upgraded my Xfinity internet to Gigabit. Turns out the CAT5e cable included in their kit is not adequate for carrying that speed. Both wifi and wired speeds were half or less of what I should have been getting. That's kind of messed up. Pay more per month to be bottlenecked by the cable they sent me. Upgraded to this for my modem-to-router connection and immediately saw the bottleneck disappear. CAT5e probably carries 200-300Mbps speeds reliably. If your going higher than that, upgrade to CAT7 or CAT8. My wifi is now hitting 500-700Mbps peak (still on wifi 5/AC) and wired gets close to Gig speed.
