Great stick vacuum, Bissell 2151A vs Dyson V6 in review.
I currently own 2 Dysons, the V6 Cordless Vacuum and an older DC59 Cordless Vacuum so I am no stranger to this type of vacuum. For me the cordless stick vacuums are perfect. My whole house is hardwoods with many area rugs. If you have a lot of carpet then this Bissell will not take the place of a full sized vacuum. After using this Bissell Multi Reach for a few days I am totally sure that it can preform just as good as my Dysons. Design wise the Bissell Multi Reach follows the tipical stick layout with the motor and dirt collector near your hand and the brush roller on the end. The Bissell is very comfortable to hold and is very lightweight at 5lbs which is right around the same weight as my Dyson V6 (4.5lbs). It has a 22 volt lithium-ion battery that will last a full fade-free 20 minutes which is the same as the Dyson V6. This 20 minute run time allows me to vacuum my first and second floors with time to spare. Like all high power stick vacuums, the Bissell is loud coming in at 80db. My Dyson V6 also comes in at 80db in low mode and 90db in strong mode. Just remember with that loudness comes great suction. You will feel the Bissell's power as soon as you run it on a rug or carpet. My wife calls it our pet hair distroyer. I have 3 dogs so there is never a shortage of pet hair in the rug and around the hardwood floor. The amount of hair it removes from my dens rug is insane. We even tested it on a rug that was just vacuumed with our Dyson V6. I actually picked up a nice amount of hair that our Dyson could not get up. And after your done emptying the dirt collector is a breeze. You just hold it over your garbage pail and open up the bottom. All the dirt will fall out, sometimes I give it a few taps to get the hair out. One feature that the Bissell has that Dyson does not is the LED lights. I thought it was gimmicky until I used the vacuum for the first time then I realized how useful it really was. I can see all the dirt and hair on my wood floors and the lights really help me pick up anything I missed. It comes with a bunch of attachments such as a crevice tool, soft dusting brush and a upholstery and stair tool but I really do not use them much. I use the regular head on my stairs and for dust in high places I use a Swifter. Overall the Bissell 2151A is a fantastic cordless stick vacuum for a home or apartment with few rugs. If you are expecting a stick vacuum to preform like a full sized vacuum then you are going to be disappointed because none do. Compared to my Dyson V6, the Bissell 2151A is just as good in every aspect and seems a bit better at picking up my dogs hair stuck deep in my rugs.
