For people who have hot tube/ spa that fight hard water issues this filter has greatly reduced my water softness. My readings were always over the limit causing me to add extra chemicals to prevent hard scale build up. After initial fill readings my numbers were low in the acceptable range. First time since purchasing spa over a year ago. All that I needed to use to fill spa is garden hose to standard thread fittings and a second short garden hose. Set up is main long hose to filter to shorter hose into spa. Once spa filled can remove for storage and used in subsequent fillings.
