This is a great adjustable charging station. To immediately address some of the other negative comments, this device supports up to 50 amp charging output, but only hard wired with 4 AWG wire. With the included plug it is limited to 40 amp output. It is easy to remove plug and have electrician hardwire device. Limitations: requires smartphone and App can only pair to 1 home charger per ChargePoint App/Account. Need good WiFi coverage where device is installed. Install should be performed by a licensed electrician, and be sure to decide what charging output you need so they can install correct breaker and wiring. If you have 6-50 or 14-50 outlet you can install yourself as no wiring beyond connecting charging cord is required. My install is for my Tesla Model 3 with 48 amp charging so I hard wired using suitable wire and breaker (60 amp) and removed the 6-50 plug as that is only suitable for 40 amp output. Once it is wired and powered on, you have to connect to the device through your smartphone and use the ChargePoint app to connect and configure device. During setup you tell the App what breaker was installed (select 60 amp in my case, not output current of 48 amp). If you don't configure the charger it will be limited to a slow 16 amp setting. Once the App was setup and connected to my Tesla Model 3 with car's J1772 adapter, the Tesla charges very quickly at over 11 kW continuous, about 50% faster than my original ChargePoint home. Most cars are limited to 32 amp, but some newer models support faster. A slower charging car will work fine even if you install the device setup for max charge rate, just not necessary. When the car is charging you can use ChargePoint App to check status and total power as well as estimated cost based on your utility.
