I bought an Ionic for one reason: GPS. I have been using a Blaze for more than a year and have been overall happy with its performance however, the lack of built in GPS started to frustrate me. I know it sounds like a "first world problem" but having to run with my phone in my pocket to be able to use the connected GPS, has become tedious. I do still have my Blaze and will probably keep it home as my sleep tracker. The Ionic is only a bit larger than the Blaze so, the size wasn't an adjustment for me as it has been for some. I have a small wrist and don't think it looks too large. It does lie more flat on my wrist and does feel lighter than the Blaze. The band is quite stiff though but perhaps I have to break it in. The main feature I purchased this for was the GPS. I tried it out and it was accurate (or at least as accurate as my phone was). It takes a bit long to connect though so, I will have to factor that time in before running. In terms of features, those don't interest me. I'm in the market for a fitness watch, not a smart watch. Just like my Blaze, I turned off notifications. In terms of battery life, it seems on par with my Blaze. Today is day 4 of owning the Ionic and it is still on the initial charge it came with (with notifications off). In a nutshell, to me, the Ionic is simply an updated Blaze with built in GPS but if it performs as well as my Blaze has, I'll like it just fine!
