Came poorly wrapped. Wooden box literally fell apart in my hands when I unwrapped it. Box iscoarse wood with no embellishment, not shiny & "ornate" as pictured & described. However, the little telescope is cool. My 5-yr-old nephew likes pirates, & when I realized that I could buy him a fake plastic telescope toy or this real one for about the same price, I purchased this. He was very happy with it. Be aware that the telescope is quite small (as described accurately)...I think in my head I thought it would be a bit bigger. See my photos.
