My 10 year old Boston Terrier has needed to have periodic anal gland expressions at the groomers since he was about 5. His glands would get very full and he would be rather uncomfortable, he doesn't seem to know how to scoot. A few years ago he had surgery to repair a perineal hernia and ever since the surgery the groomers have not been able to express his glands using the external method so we have been going to the vet to have them expressed internally. I decided to do some more research and stumbled onto this product. I asked the vet what they thought and they knew of some success stories so it wouldn't hurt for us to give it a try. I've been giving my pup who is 27lb 1 Glandex a day for 4 months. His first gland expression after using it for about a month they were able to express them a bit but they were not nearly as full as they usually are. At the latest expression after using Glandex for about 3 months I was told that the glands were completely empty! I never thought I'd be saying this but I have canceled the periodic gland expressions at this point and couldn't be happier! I did not believe that this product would work but it proved me wrong saving me time and money and I'm sure the pup is happy to avoid the rear poking. He also gets a bit of canned pumpkin daily which I have not discontinued, not sure if that has any effect in his improvement.
