This is a decent second monitor for someone who wants to work in a portable setting with two screens or for portable presentations. The picture quality, especially brightness, may not win any awards. It pales in comparison next to, say, a Macbook screen with way more brightness and pixel density. But if you regulate your expectations for a decent 1080p monitor, you will likely be satisfied. I am using this for a second screen while I work (computer programming), which can mean having email on a second monitor or some extra code. Text reads fine on it for me, although, again, more brightness may be appreciated. Video also looks good, if I want some kind of video playing in the background while I work. Big props to the connectivity and included wires! Daisy chaining through USB C is a cinch with the Macbook Pro. Having charging options on either side of the device may have been nice, but, again, may also be asking too much from something at this price. The speakers on this aren't great. Using your laptop speakers will likely outperform this. Don't rely on this for its speakers, definitely! While I have no direct experience comparing with the Asus models, this currently can go for $80 more (at minimum!) less at the time of writing. That huge difference allows me to overlook some of the picture quality flaws. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product.
