I took some advisement from previous reviewers and used the extendable blades to pre-trim some of my longer hairs before going for the close shave. It worked quite well but I had to clean it rather frequently (I'm Italian, don't judge). It's not a super close touchable shave like a razor would be but it gets the job done when I want to wear shorts and don't have time for a shower-n-shave. The hair grew back pretty quickly, faster than it does when I razor shave but, again, I'm Italian so that didn't really surprise me. What I really loved about it was the complete and utter lack of razor burn. I used this on my nethers (not just the bikini line folks, the whole caboodle) and it did a fantastic job. No bumps, no itching a day later, no redness or irritation, no ingrown hairs. Love that, love that, love that! My husband also borrowed to use on his face (before I used it on my nethers, I assure you) and he had the same feedback. No razor burn. He was elated.
