Great gym earbuds!
I bought the white iKanzi IPX7 earbuds/case to replace my broken Mpow earbuds ($19.99 earbuds doesn't buy a lot of durability, unfortunately). I ordered the iKanzi earbuds on January 10th and received them the 11th, so great service from Amazon once again. Opening the charging case for the earbuds was my sole point of minor confusion at first. (Pull it open from the USB port side of the case.) I assumed I was supposed to charge the earbuds before using them, so I did this even though that wasn't in the instructions. I don't remember how long the case took to fully charge (3 blue lights all lit up), but it wasn't very long. The earbuds are helpfully labeled R (right) and L (left). The plastic is very smooth and can be a little hard to grip, so be careful not to drop them. Twist the earbuds around until they slide into your ear canal. On me, the earbuds lodge very securely, so they certainly won't fall out when I run on a treadmill. I haven't had problems with sweat yet, and they are supposed to be waterproof (although I wouldn't trust them to stay lodged in my ears if I were to dive or swim in a pool). I've uploaded two photos of me and my daughter wearing the earbuds. The earbuds don't slide in as quite well for my daughter because she has smaller ears, but she still finds the fit acceptable. The earbuds ship with three sizes of silicone ear caps, and each size has a spare set. The smallest ear caps are already pre-installed on the earbuds. The ear caps stay secure on the earbuds, and they seem more durable than the foam ear caps on my previous earbuds. When you take the earbuds out of the case, they automatically power on and pair to each other. Pairing the earbuds to other Bluetooth devices is also easy. I successfully paired to my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone and later to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) running Mojave. When you put on the earbuds, you'll hear some messages indicating that pairing was successful and that the earbuds are connected to the device. Once the earbuds are paired with your device, they'll just connect automatically in the future. (Note, however, that you can't connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. For example, if you first connect to your phone but later want to listen to your laptop, you'll have to switch off Bluetooth on the phone so Bluetooth on the laptop can find the earbuds.) I use my earbuds mostly to listen to music and videos on my phone at the gym, and the sound quality is comparable or maybe a little better than my old Mpows. Most people would probably be very happy with the sound quality. When I'm at the gym or in other noisy environments, the built-in noise reduction works well. How satisfying these earbuds would be to an audiophile, though, I have no way of knowing, since I'm not one. When I showed the earbuds to my hearing-impaired husband, I learned that the sound quality may be adequate for at least some people with hearing problems. My husband has pitch deafness and has a lot of trouble with higher frequencies. He tried out my earbuds (without his hearing aids, of course). He found to his surprise that he could hear voices in podcasts very clearly, and the music quality was also good for him, with clear treble and no distortion. Usually he needs equalization to hear well with phones, etc., but with these earbuds, he doesn't. The earbuds have various tap/press commands that are described in the user manual. I tested out most of the commands and found that everything worked well. When paired with a phone, you can accept/reject phone calls and control the volume from the earbuds. The music play/pause/previous/next controls work as described when you're connected to a phone; however, if you're connected to a MacBook, the music controls activate iTunes. The case has USB and micro USB ports and a USB-to-micro-USB cable. The case can charge your phone/other USB devices as well as the earbuds, which could be handy. So, I hope all this information is helpful to people who are considering purchasing this product!
