Nalgene makes a flat lid that works with the Coleman5
I bought my Coleman5 at my local grocery store in the scratch and dent section for $5. The spigot, which I understand from the reviews here is pretty fragile, was already gone before I bought the water carrier.
An email to Coleman gained me a free replacement spigot, which didn't surprise me after a history of fabulous interactions with their customer service.
I bought a flat, low-profile cap for an interim solution as well as to have a more durable closure for storage and transportation. A cap which fits perfectly is the wide-mouth cap for the smaller (16oz) sized Nalgene bottle. This is not the commonly found wide-mouth size, and it's not a narrow-mouth cap. The complete 16oz bottle costs around $9, but I was able to buy a replacement lid from REI for about $3. The blue color that it came in is a nice match for the Coleman blue. (See pic.)
The Reliance Aquatainer replacement spigot will not fit the Coleman5.
