This unit has a strong motor and gets the job done. I like that the blender shaft and blades are stainless steel. The only problem I had with the unit is the gearbox that attaches the whisk to the motor. It says in the manual not to immerse it in water, which I missed. It trapped water, rusted inside, and now releases rusty water into the stuff I'm whisking. This is my fault because I didn't read the manual thoroughly, but I wish they had make the whisk one single cleanable unit the way the stick blender attachment is. I use the whisk a lot so I'm buying a replacement gear box: $8 for the gearbox and another $8 for shipping...an expensive lesson! If you're wondering if you can use it to blend ice, or large chunks of solid-frozen fruit like whole strawberries, the answer is no. You will bust the little blades. If you're wondering if you can use it to make nut butter or heavy dough, the answer is no. You will burn out the motor. Use the stick attachment to blend smoothies containing fresh fruit or small, soft, frozen berries, and to puree soups, sauces and soft-cooked vegetables. Use the whisk attachment to whisk cream and egg whites, to froth milk, and to emulsify salad dressings and mayonnaise. Use the mini food-processor attachment to chop nuts or fresh or cooked vegetables. It's a good size for making a small batch of salsa or baby food. If you don't abuse it, it will serve you well and last a long time.
