I had to wait for a few weeks for this item to get back in stock but it changed the appearance of my fireplace that used to have some old fashion fake logs with a red-ish night light and some tinsel that rotated around to make the logs to appear like they were hot coals. Not only does this thing look like a real fireplace with logs ready to start a fire when it is turned off, when you turn it on it looks very much like soft flames shooting up from the logs. The embers glow different shades just like real coals do. You can also turn on the heater and have hot air blowing out from the fireplace to gently warm the room! About the ONLY thing that makes this fire seem not real is the missing crackling, hissing and popping of a real wood fire... and the smoke seeping out into the room which is really a good thing.
