I've had this for 2 months now and am very happy with it. I have severe allergies, asthma and sinus problems. Since having this my allergies are about 75% better in the house. I used to take Claritin D every night now I take it a few times a month or when I know I'm going to be around a lot of irritants like at a baseball game. Before this my nose was stuffed up most of the time and I would only get 2-3 hours of sleep at a time so I was waking up a few times a night and had to sleep with my mouth open to breath. It did take me 2 days to really feel the difference. I think due to the weather changed a few times before this arrived which is when my allergies are at its worst. I have this on my side table in the bedroom and have it blowing in my face. It is quite big but I do better with it blowing in my direction. I bought this after reading reviews of the other Germ Guardian air cleaners, but this one has 5 speeds instead of 3. Speed 1 and 2 are really quite, but I do keep it on speed 3 most of the time. I do have to sleep with some noise. I put it on speed 5 during the day to help clean the air better and down to speed 2 when watching tv in there. The blue light does not bother me...probably because it is higher up instead of on the floor, but you can turn it off if it bothers you. My bedroom is 132 sqft with a sitting room right off it with just a doorway no door that is 115 sqft and I have a cat that likes to throw the door open a lot of nights. So this air cleaner has a lot it has to deal with. It is rated for upto 193 sqft. I am vacuuming the filter once a month to hopefully make the filter last longer (got this idea from a review of one of the other Germ Guardian air cleaners). The manual says the filter will last 6-8 months. Right now I am searching for an air cleaner for the living room. If Germ Guardian made one for 300-400 sqft I woiuld get it for my living room. It feels good waking up being able to breath and no sore throat.
