After giving this a pre-winter test run, all seems well. It is a well constructed, solid product, and I hope it works out as expected. To be honest, I won't know for sure until the return date has passed, so we'll see if I'm happy or pissed off :) I'll issue a follow-up after the cold sets in. BTW, this does not need to heat a lot of space; just by my computer which is next to a large sliding glass door which tends to allow some drafts. But set on low (one of the nice multi-function beauties of this) it seemed to work just fine. After some use: It performs very well, and I'd like to add an operational tip; don't place it too close to you, thinking it will be warmer. Not true. If you're sitting in a chair and the unit is on the floor, place it about 3 feet away, otherwise the heat will travel underneath you. Allowing that 3 feet will let the heat rise up to you.
