Defective Mattress-didn't inflate :(
This is my second Lucid memory foam mattress. The first one I ordered a year ago was perfect...(& still is)-it inflated beautifully and evenly within hours of unwrapping it. When the time came to order a new mattress for my master bedroom-I didn't think twice about ordering another Lucid. When the box arrived, I eagerly opened her up and laid her out. I removed all her plastic and prepared myself to watch her inflate...only, she didn't inflate nicely like my last one did. This mattress had major dents but I decided to reserve judgment until a full 48hrs had passed. Well, 48 hours have passed....and she still looked defective. There is a large section in which the base foam did not inflate....almost like it's stuck to itself. The top, softer top layer foam has inflated, but there's a large section where the base layer foam did not inflate. I measured the thickness in this area...and it's only 4.5"-and most of that is the top softer layer. When I poke the side with my finger...I can feel that the base foam is hard & still compacted. I'm devastated! I've noticed that a couple of reviewers have experienced this same thing recently-I wonder if we got a bad batch. (ps. I don't know why my image s loaded upside down...sorry-but hopefully you can still see the huge concavity) -UPDATE: I reached out to the Lucid regarding their warranty claims process...two days later, I had a replacement mattress at my door. Fantastic customer service. The box was in rough shape & I was a bit worried that I might have received another "lemon"...but all doubts flew out the window the moment I unwrapped her. She was perfect....and she inflated to full size within minutes. Thank you Lucid. I would have given you 5 stars, but I did have to pay to have my defective mattress removed...so even though a replacement mattress was provided very quickly, paying to have a defective mattress taken away was an inconvenience.
