Wonderful!
After having to rebuild our Hayward vac every single year, I decided to look for something else. After a lot of research I decided on this. Setup was straight forward and simple BUT it would not climb the walls or get out of the deep end of our diving pool. I increased vacuum and still nothing. After a couple days I was ready to take it back but thought I'd give it one more chance. I started playing with the hose weights location (two small clip on weights that go on the very bottom hose). After a few try's I finally got it to work, almost too good as it wanted to crawl up & out of our pool. After adjusting the weights farther down on the hose ( the upper most weight is 19.5" from the head of the vac)I could then start to ease back on the vacuum until it quit trying to run away. I also found out that if I add 1 more hose length than recommended it cleans the shallow end more often. Now its a pool cleaning beast and as quite as can be. Hopefully it will last longer than the Haywood (which cleaned very well too but it was noisy, complicated and expensive to repair). Here in Phoenix during the season these things run 6+ hours a day, every day so they get their work out. Follow Up: Came home the other day and it wasnt moving! I tried to clear its throat still nothing. I took it out of the pool and removed three screws on the top of the unit then a little cover slid off that was over the gears and spinning flap in the throat area. Right there was a what looked like a valve spring from a car, it was huge. No idea how it got in the pool, some one must of thrown it over the fence. I popped that out, put it back together all in about 5 minutes and she's off and running again! What I did notice is how simple the design is and how easy to rebuild if it ever needs it, super simple.
