I recently recieved this fan and I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm an electrician and its very hot here in the Chicagoland area. I've been using this as a jobsite fan to get the air moving. Im using this fan, a regular box fan and the Stanley blower fan. Based on pictures, I assumed this Lasko fan and the Stanley blower fan would be exactly the same, minus a few aesthetic differences. I had bought the Stanley fan first for 50 bucks at Menards while I waited for this Lasko fan to arrive. When I got the Lasko and set both blower fans side by side, the Lasko was cleary larger and much heavier. The Lasko also seems to be built with sturdier materials. The Lasko pushes more air on the high setting than the Stanley does. Both fans work great, but the Lasko is sturdier, bigger and out performs the smaller Stanley unit. FYI, the Stanley is also made by Lasko
