I have been using my machine about twice a week. I used to go for monthly microdermabrasions at my dermatologists office, and I see no difference between that and doing the procedure myself. Well, there is one difference - I don't rush/am more thorough. It makes my skin feel smooth, and even more importantly, allows skin products to sink into my skin. I highly recommend it. **update: 1.5 years down the road, the area of the vacuuming tube, right above the little pad, broke. A tip can no longer fit over it (fits, but air escapes). I haven't downgraded the stars because I'm planning to get another unit - I found it that effective, and it saved a lot more money as compared to going to a doctor or spa for microdermabrasion. My sister and niece each have units as well, and they use theirs regularly. FURTHER UPDATE ON TIP - It turned out that the tip is replaceable and Trophy Skin gave me the replacement for free. I'm very happy and satisfied.
