My Bissell 92NOA Sweeper Has a Redesigned Handle
After reading many reviews of non-electric sweepers, I decided to get this dual brush version. Received it today, 10/9/13, and was very pleased to find that the handle is now sturdy and SCREWS TOGETHER nicely--no hammering, taping or glueing! Looks like Bissell responded to all the negative reviews regarding the previous handle design issue. Assembly was under five minutes. The handle comes in four sections, one of which contains an internal plastic plug. This section must be screwed onto the short threaded rod at the top of the sweeper base--easy as pie. Used it on one carpet and it does the job so far. Simple assembly instructions are on the back of the box. My wife and I are taller than average and the 44-inch long handle is just fine. Another thoughtful touch is that the handle mount has a detent to hold the handle in the upright position so it can stand up and let you walk away; the handle stays up and doesn't flop down. The two brushes are easily removable for cleaning by flexing the plastic housing slightly outward where the brush axle rods protrude--nice feature. I gave it four stars since we just got it and will have to see how it performs over time.
BTW: Note that it does pick up on both push and pull strokes. Only the rear brush rotates on push (forward) stroke; only the front brush rotates on pull stroke (reverse). I think that's why there are two dust bins.
