Great bag for range use, just received it and was pleasantly surprised by its size and construction. Good heavy duty zippers that are lockable for travel purposes, good stitching with no loose threads, ample pockets inside and out. Entire bag is padded, so don't be afraid to put your pistol in one of the outside large pockets. Even though it's a soft bottom case, there is a fold down thin plastic sheet to help stiffen the bottom and support the weight of the contents. Right now I am carrying cleaning supplies for both rifle and pistol plus rods and solvent, oil, ears, glasses, takedown/maint. tools, pens and note pad for W/E adjustments, knife, 3 1911 mags., 3 10 rd. 10/22 mags, enough ammunition for three guns and spotting scope. And there is still more room in main compartment ! Don't be afraid to stuff this bag. Another plus is that all outside pockets are also padded and large enough for a med. size cell phone and or a pocket sized camera.
