Great on a budget!
I received this kayak as a gift for christmas from my father. At first I was a bit skeptical about how usable it would be for fishing. I have since gone on many fishing excursions in this little yak. The first thing I would like to point out is, you are probably not going to find a better fishing kayak for the price. Nowadays its common for kayaks to cost thousands of dollars. You can catch just as many fish from the sundolphin journey as you could from any of those premium brand kayaks. This kayak gives you a lightweight design, with the ability to bring a good amount of fishing gear (3 rod holders, dry storage for cell phones and keys, space for a tackle box). It also comes with paddle holders on either side which is a huge plus. My previous kayak did now have holders so the paddle was constantly falling in the water when I was trying to reel in the big one. Another benefit of this kayak is the adjustable foot pegs that allow users of all sizes to find comfort. One drawback to the kayak is that whenever you are stopped and taking a few casts, it tends to want to turn on you in the opposite direction in which you want to be. I find myself constantly readjusting my position by using the paddle as a rudder. In the future I plan on adding a rudder for better tracking at speed and so I can keep my position at rest. All in all I would recommend this kayak for a range of anglers from beginner to advanced. If you are a larger person, more than 200 lbs I would recommend you go up a size to the 12 foot version. If you are on a budget like myself, this is the perfect kayak to get you out on the water and catching fish.
