I am a service technician in the RV industry. This fact may pose the question, "why do you need a torque wrench to work on an RV?" Well I also happen to be the hitch installer for my location. Working under trucks installing goose-neck and 5th wheel trailed hitches is not as easy task. Different manufactures require different torque specs for the hitches to be installed. Some of the attachments require set bolts as low as 20 ft lbs, some require a torque setting of 250 ft lbs on the bigger bolts and several other increments in between. I bought these torque wrenches (3/8" drive 10-85 ft lbs, 1/2" drive 20-150 ft lbs AND the 1/2" drive 25-250 ft lbs range) because my 1/2" digital $135 Craftsman torque wrench 20-250 ft lbs. range, well the head ratcheting gear stripped out on me while setting a 120 ft lbs lug nut. I only had the wrench for about 9 months. I tried to warranty it, and was told "It's a craftsman tool, sir, it's meant for home use, not professional use." Being a professional and certified technician, this highly irritated me, because I grew up using craftsman tools working with my old man. All three of these torque wrenches are built well, I have used all three several dozen times, I am NOT disappointed. I was worried this past Tuesday when I was setting a bolt at 200 ft lbs, and due to the awkward position trying to set it, when it clicked, it fell off the bolt head, out of my hand, bounced off of the rear differential and dropped another 3 feet before hitting the ground. The next day the Mac tool truck guy showed up and has a calibration meter on his truck. I grabbed all three wrenches just in case and check the accuracy of them, the were all within 3 ft lbs of their mark. This is amazing for anyone who works with torque wrenches and sets bolts to spec on a multiple times a day basis. I highly recommend and support the Lexivon Brand.
