I bought these for my husband and I to wear on a Ragnar relay race. ‘What is that?’ you ask. Pure stupidity. We needed headlamps for our middle of the night runs (yes, plural runs). The bright mode was good to avoid road kill on the road and allowed me to continually scan the ditch for zombies, serial killers, or more road kill. I found a lot of road kill. The bright mode was key for that. It was also the perfect mode for port-a-potty use. Although, the longer we ran the less you really wanted to see what was in there! The dim mode was great in the fog (yup we ran through dense fog). It also kept the safety police happy when it was bright enough to see, but they still made us be fully decked out in gear. The tilt on the light would almost go low enough to not blind people as you chatted with strangers in line for the port-a-potties, but it was okay because they will never see me again. I wore the headlamp over my stocking camp (yes we ran in weather cold enough for a stocking cap!). It didn’t slip at all. The headband was comfortable (either than or the rest of my body was so miserable I didn’t notice). My headlamp ran 4 legs worth about 5 hours of use and (unlike me and my friend I shared with) it never grew weary. It’s kind of like it was riding on my head while I did all the hard work. In that regard, it was worthless. It didn’t make me faster or less tired - but it did make me bright. So if you want to be bright, this is the headlamp for you.
