Salma Hayek and Owen Wilson leap from one energy echelon to another in this unique fantasy. This is an absolutely riveting movie with outstanding acting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found the storyline engaging as well as singular. I glanced at the other reviews and sadly, too many viewers take this movie literally. This movie struck a chord with me. I developed Dissociative Disorder as a result of severe childhood trauma. Couple that with my inattentive ADHD and my innate ability as a professional artist, you gotta know I live a pretty darn interesting life. Dissociative Disorder makes you experience life as if you live Quantum Plane; the world(s) is separated by a gossamer veil and you easily slip between those existences. Sometimes, especially if stressed or triggered, this disorder just "takes" you, sorta grabs you up, and you're body's "here" but your "mind" is somewhere else. Sometimes you can control it. Which is pretty great when you are waiting an eternity at the DMV. Not so great if you are driving. So, where some reviewers saw addicts and sordid ugliness, I saw alternative lives in an intersecting, interconnecting worlds. And I loved it.
