I used the Otterbox Defender case for my Iphone 4S for about 2 years, and I have to say that my phone is basically still in mint condition. So i just bought an Iphone 5S and clearly went for the defender case again, and while it still seems to be a great case I'm slightly dissapointed with the quality of it. Pros: The case is definitely less cumbersome and the the rubber doesn't cause the phone to "stick" in my pocket. That was my one quarrel with the previous Defender series, I once lost $100 taking my phone out of my pocket! I like that they retained the built-in screen protector and you can't go wrong with the double layers. The look is also much sleaker than the last one. Cons: The plastic seems cheaper and so does the rubber. I think that Otterbox sacrificed a little bit of safety for aesthetics with this new case. It also might just be a marketing tactic to encourage more people to buy their "Armor" series cases. In any event, the case doesn't feel as durable as my old one. The case has become much more like the "Commuter" series, there's honestly a minimal difference between the 2. Overall I still recommend this case over any others
