Very sharp and worked well for the task I had. However, be careful getting it out of the package. The protective plastic over the blade flew off upon opening, and I stabbed my thumb. It bled quite a bit... all over my sink, my shirt, my countertops. It looked like a mini massacre had taken place in my bathroom. My husband walked in and thought I had finally given in to my threats about our demon cat that attacks the walls at random while growling and hissing...until Fluffy McLucifer walked in and began to lick the blood that had dripped on the floor. While I do not recommend using this tool to harm any animals because that's just plain wrong, I strongly suggest putting it aside in your underground bunker to use as a weapon in case of a zombie apocalypse.
