WELL WORTH IT! RIVALS WITH FABERS---EASILY!
OK, I decided I would give these a try VS. buying the Fabers again. I have pretty much every brand of colored pencils from the cheapest Crayola to the most expensive CARAN d' ACHE. I was hoping that these would be as nice as the other Poly's and they are pretty impressive, especially for the price. I have used them side by side with all the other Poly's and they really are just a good. These are a bit harder core than the Fabers or Caranbut not by much at all. They lay down color just as smooth as the top brands.(Since these are oils you don't have to worry about wax blooming). The pigments are just as rich also, not as many colors as some of them have but 72 Poly's is pretty good.
*Oil based Colored Pencil
*Blends and Burnishes very well, Using Dewerts, Prismacolor, Caran, and Lyra Rembrandt Splender. Also blends great using liquids, like Finesse Colored Pencil Blender, Gamsol and rubbing Alcohol.
* Great Saturation
* Harder cores than some other oil pencils
**Does not stay as sharp as Wax based Pencils do
They lay color down nice and smooth, no slipping, no unevenness of color. No heavy pressure needed to get vivid results.
THESE ARE A MUST HAVE IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS COLORIST
This set is so good I would suggest getting this one to start out then possibly move up to the Fabers or Carans, You might not need them!
If I had to be forced to choose only 3 brands to keep I would say Prismacolors (another must have) Koh-l-Noor and the Dewerts INKTENSE
