Great book great show. Veteran experience.
I see a lot of hate for this show. I was really hopeful that showing this story and getting little details correct would help people understand aspects of the experiences of operators and the bonds between. Showing a man can be a kind and loving father but also when necessity calls for it can flip the switch. We aren't dangerous we are just capable. Those who are incapable like to say negative things about the better men who do what's necessary to keep them safe. That's been going on a long time. Don't listen to the haters it's a fun ride and good feel.
As for the "veteran" guy who gave it 1 star. Maybe send your tactical notes to the SEALs and Rangers who worked on the show. As you said you never made it through the training or even attempted it, but go ahead and crap on the work actual operators (former SEALs including the author, SF and rangers) did making an entertaining show. Im sure they must have just forgotten and made a huge blunder whoops. They'll probably hire you!
Pretty common stance of the guys who "deploy" and watch movies and eat hot chow every meal.
The whole idea is that op was super jacked and terrible from the beginning. They didn't want to go on it because there were so many issues. Also review the AoR and DA missions guy. Bush league lol.
For me this gets the little details right. The conflicts. The pain. The happiness. The unrelenting drive. The skills so honed they become instinct. I watch the show- I cry, I laugh and I remember my brothers.
Despite many reviews please don't see this as a rage filled rampage. It's a man who had everything stripped from him, he is walking dead, he lives only to attempt to accomplish his list hoping he can do something on the way out. Torn by the agony of wanting to join his family in death but wanting to try to use his skills to protect others from similar fates.
I hope others enjoy the show and don't think vets or operators are all crazy or dangerous. We are the calmest sweetest people you will meet. Until you attempt to harm someone we care about. Hopefully it sheds a little light and people can see you can be capable and kind. They are not mutually exclusive. I think veterans (besides Mr conventional army tactical genius) will love it. Of course it's an action show but the little details are right on. When the admiral tells him to shave when he's in garrison. Little gems like that throughout.
Thank you to all the vets and folks who worked on this and wanted to get little things right. I hope you can keep making it. De Oppresso Liber. LLTB.
