Complete Comfort For Us During the Night Without Waking Up To Pain In The Morning
For most people, including myself, I believe that they judge how good their mattress is based on all of the problems they DON’T have with it. A good mattresses should be designed to solve problems that can come up when you’re sleeping, so while the initial impression of what you are buying is important, there are other considerations I wanted to think about when choosing if a mattress was the right one for us. These were some of the most important considerations for me and my husband: Motion isolation - I sleep light and wake up often when my husband tosses and turns. Pressure relief - We both often wake up with tingly arms or sore hips and shoulders during the night, and will even take OTC pain relief medication before bed to help us get some sleep because of this. Proper support for your spine. - After the pain meds have worn off, it takes a hot shower in the morning and a bit of moving around to get rid of the stiffness and aches we both feel in our neck, shoulders and back. Size - After researching mattresses in depth, I found out that if possible, your mattress should be a minimum of 6 inches longer than the tallest person sleeping in it. I had never thought about that before, and though we were pretty much locked into buying a queen size mattress because that was the size of bed we already own, if you have flexibility here, this is something you might think about as well. The hybrid make-up of this mattress addressed so many of these issues for us. This LINENSPA 8 Inch Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid Mattress is composed of a layer of memory foam that is quilted in the soft, knit cover and placed over a 1.5 inch layer of traditional foam. Beneath the foam top is 6 inches of steel coil springs. Memory foam excels at pressure relief and is distinguished by its slow, form-fitting responsiveness, creating the sensation that you are gently "melting" into the bed. My husband and I are side sleepers so we prefer this kind of cushioning, since our weight is being supported by a smaller surface area of the body, creating more "pressure points. The foam conforms to the unique curves of our bodies and minimizes pressure points addressing the pressure relief issue we were looking to solve. Innerspring support layers are known for their longevity and good back support, so this was another plus for us when we considered this hybrid mattress. Tempered steel is known to be a much more resilient material than polyurethane foam, and a well-made steel spring should maintain its shape and resistance better than polyurethane foam over a long period of time. So I knew the springs would not only provide the back support we were looking for but that they would also give the mattress durability. The other consideration we had was for motion isolation since I am a light sleeper. A mattress with good motion isolation absorbs the movement of one person so that the other person is not disturbed. A disadvantage to this, however, is that it often means that the mattress has limited, if any, bounce. Since there are times that a couple spends on their mattress, where they might want a little bounce, we didn’t want complete motion isolation like a pure memory foam mattress would provide. The combination of the springs and the memory foam was the perfect answer to this for us. Lastly, you should know how this mattress will come to you if you decide that all of these features are what you are looking for as well. This mattress is rolled very tightly in plastic and shipped in a box for convenient delivery and setup. You will need to remove the plastic packaging and place your new mattress on your own box spring, allowing it to fully expand over the next 2-3 hours. Be very careful as you remove this plastic since the mattress is wrapped very tightly in the plastic and you don’t want to cut into the mattress by accident. After that you will be ready to go. I can tell you that we had our best night’s sleep in a very long time the first night that spent on this mattress. There was no odor to this mattress and all of the features we were looking for did the trick to improve our level of comfort throughout the night and in the morning. This mattress was well thought out and well made and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. It also comes with a 10 year limited warranty that covers any defects in materials or workmanship for the original owner. I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
