Don't put teflon tape on plastic threads. Do not cross thread plastic threads. You have been advised
Overall this seems to be a good product,,, if you install it right. The instructions are MOSTLY there. But the order should be altered.
1. Get yourself some REAL teflon tape and put two turns on each of the metal threads on T-adapter ONLY before doing anything else. Put 4 dots of adhesive silicone on underside of Bidet attachment to hold the round rubber gaskets in place while trying to install Bidet. (They are not enough of a fit to stay in place. Pain in the butt.)
2.Turn off water supply and empty tank
3. Remove water supply inlet hose from under tank
4. CAREFULLY, thread the T-adapter to the water inlet fill valve on the bottom side of tank. (The T is metal. The water inlet is probably plastic and will easily cross thread. (tighten carefully)
5. Connect water supply line to T-adapter.
6. Connect Bidet hose to T-adapter.
7. NOW REMOVE TOILET SEAT AND LID (its a real pain in the arse to do steps 3-6 with the lid and seat off, especially if you drop something and it goes into the bowl.. Ooops!
8. Install Bidet per included instructions..
NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Do Not Fully Tighten Screws to Seat Until Nozzel Guard is Flush Against Toilet Bowl Rim and Hole Placement is Symmetrical
9. Attach Bidet hose to Bidet (tighten carefully)
10. Turn on water supply
11. Enjoy
BIG POINTS: Use a real adjustable wrench, not that plastic crap that comes in the box contents
Get some real teflon tape and use only on metallic threads
Ensure not to cross thread plastic fittings
Do Not over tighten plastic fittings. They will crack. You crack the toilet fill valve, add another $20
and at least another hour to take it out, go to the store for another, and then re-install.
For those people who had leaks, you PROBABLY either cracked a fitting or put teflon tape on plastic fittings which does not work.
I have installed two. Neither leak.
