UPDATE: I promised to update the review below to let you know if my new iron was spitting or leaking (that is about the timeframe in which my rowentas leaked). To my surprise, 9 months turned into 4 years. I am thrilled to tell you that they CHI iron is still performing great. No spitting or leaking. "Tried this iron to replace rowenta, after 3 separate rowenta's started leaking water all over the place. I was determined not to spend another dime on a rowenta product. For what these irons cost, the performance should be better. The CHI performs great. No spitting or dripping. Most of the ironing I do is with indirect heat so the high temperature is ideal for me. The sole plate does not get gummed up with the starch like the rowenta. After about 8 or 9 months I will report if this iron starts to leak. Last point. I like amazon and will continue to shop with Amazon. However, the trust and confidence I have in amazon have diminished. I paid $141.00 for my iron. Afterwards I saw the iron all over the Internet for $99.00. Do your homework and don't get ripped off by Amazon."
