I can't not lay down on this thing!!
Disclosure: I bought the king-size Ten (10" version) direct from Tuft & Needle, not on Amazon. I live in MN and work for a legal company; I'm not affiliated with T&N in any way other than the heavenly contact my backside is to make with their awesome mattress all the days forward. T&N hasn't asked me to write a review, I just think they deserve it for what they've done.
Like many converts, I first heard about T&N via one of the recent articles written about them - one of those articles that ended up driving so much business their way that they got off schedule working to keep up. By the way, the extra little delay... so worth it now that we have the bed!! I felt they communicated well considering the circumstances, and our bed was only delayed a week.
The bed arrived as described, vacuum packed and rolled. It's heavyish but insanely easy to transport as far as king-size mattresses go. We put ours on top of a standard frame and box (not box spring), and it works perfectly. T&N says it takes 2 - 3 hours to fully re-inflate all its foamy goodness, but we started slicing it free from its plastic cage and I swear the thing popped about all the way back in the first 30 seconds... so have it where you want it before you start cutting.
First impressions were the lack of chemical smell (smelled fresh actually), how nice the cover stitching was, and as soon as we laid down how incredibly well balanced it was in firmness and comfort. I don't know how to describe it other than really firm with the perfect amount of give. I don't like memory foam, and this is nothing like it in my book.
I didn't realize just how bad our old spring mattress was until we got the T&N bed. We have an expensive pillow topper sitting unopened in the corner because we don't want to introduce any compromise. Every time the wife or I walk past the bed we can't help but sprawl out, if even just for a moment, because the thing just feels so darn good!
I'm a side and back sleeper, and it wasn't a miracle fix, but every morning so far I've woken up with less and less back and neck pain.
Obvious by now, I can't praise this bed enough, and we've already started recommending it to anyone we know who'll listen. We'll be replacing all the beds in our house with T&N models going forward. Love T&N's philosophy, philanthropy, and product. Thanks Tuft & Needle, you are doing really, really good work!
UPDATE: After two weeks, no more of that old back pain when I wake up! I've got a serious crush on Tuft & Needle right now!!
